NORMAN STOCKER DENMARK and EDITH BARBARA DENMARK (MITCHELL) Norman Denmark, born December 10, 1926 in Winnipeg, MB to Donald and Dorothy Denmark, died November 23, 2018 in Merritt, BC. Edith Denmark, born May 19, 1926 in Iroquois Falls, ON to Frank and Edith Mitchell, died January 29, 2017 in Kamloops, BC Survived by Donald (Anne) Denmark of Franklin, TN, Janet (Brad) Minton of Port Alberni, BC, Louise (Mike) Dutove of Merritt, BC and Kathy (Woody) Weed of Albuquerque, NM; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; Norm's sisters, Joan and Edith; Barb's sister Mary (Bob); and numerous nieces and nephews. Barb, a graduate of Physiotherapy from McGill University, met Norm when he was a University of New Brunswick Forestry student and they married December 26, 1949 in Montreal, QC. During their journey together, which took them to Iroquois Falls, ON, Hinton, AB, Kamloops, BC, Merritt, BC, Fernie, BC, Prince Albert, SK, Whitehorse, YK, and retirement in Comox, BC, they cultivated lifelong friendships and always enjoyed the adventure of camping and travel. The opportunity to share their gifts of kindness, generosity and a willingness to be there for others showed as they opened their home and helped whenever they were called upon. Their faith in God sustained and steadied them through the ups and downs of life. Together they leave a legacy of a walk of faith, the joy of family and the richness of friendship. The family would like to thank the Florentine Seniors Residence staff in Merritt, BC for their care and compassion over the past three years. Donations in memory of Barb and Norm may be made to a charity of your choice. Friends are invited to join the family on April 27, 2019 in Comox, BC to honour and celebrate Norm and Barb. Venue and time to be determined.
