Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTHUR (LORNE) PIDHIRNEY Surrounded by family, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, our beloved husband, father and grandfather took his last breath. Lorne was born in Stonewall, Manitoba on October 1, 1938 to Jean and Gerald Pidhirney. He was the middle son of three boys. In 1947 they moved to Transcona when it was still wide-open fields and remained there throughout his life. He met and married his wife, Sylvia, and they raised three daughters. Lorne worked at Kleysens, Trimac, and finished his career in the garage at CN Rail. Lorne always worked hard to provide for his family, they meant the world to him. In his retirement, he farmed, tinkered, or simply worked around the property. He loved auction sales and became quite a collector. Lorne will be loving remembered by his wife of 53 years, Sylvia; his mother-in-law Gwen Michaels; three daughters, Bev (Brent) Early, Nancy (Jeremy) Squire and Lorna (Kevin) Bourgeois; four grandchildren, Breanna, Brad, Erin and Owen; three grand fur babies especially Mocha or "Mochi Pokey" as grandpa always called her. Lorne also leaves to mourn his passing; brothers, Garth and Dennis Pidhirney, and his best friend of many years, Doug DeGraff, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends both near and far. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Private family interment to follow. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Grace and St. Boniface Hospitals. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

My condolences to your family. I met Lorne through our auction company and he has been a regular at nearly every sale. I personally will miss him as he always had a grin and a handshake for me before every sale. He always asked what was happening in my life and we would have a little chat. I consider myself lucky to have met him and call him a friend. Im gonna miss you buddy RIP. John Lamport - Posted by: John Lamport (Friend) on: Dec 10, 2018
