VINCENZO TACCHI It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Vincenzo (Vince) Tacchi on December 9, 2018 at the age of 96. He is predeceased by his loving wife Giovanna; parents, Alfonso and Teresa; son Emilio; brothers, Giuseppe (Dorothy), Elio (Giuseppina), sisters, Ersilla (Santino) Belucci, Emilia (Giuseppe) Radicchi, and sisters-in-law, Cesarina and Annetta. Left to cherish and carry on his memory are his children, Teresa, Rita (Vince), Joe (Donna), Suzie (Darren), daughter-in-law Lorna; grandchildren, David (Missy), Louise (Matthew), Anthony (Johanna), Bianca (Scott), Jordan, Chelsea, Alexi; great-grandchildren, Ariston, Madison, Mason, Piper, Asher; and brothers, Eugenio and Nazzareno. Vincenzo was born on November 30, 1922 in Gubbio, Umbria, Italy. He immigrated to Canada in 1955 with his brother Elio to reunite with their brother Giuseppe who settled in Winnipeg in 1951. His wife Giovanna and first born, Emilio, followed two years later. The majority of his working life was at Misericordia Hospital as a cook. Dad was a man of strong character, values and ethics. He was a hard worker who devoted his entire life to provide for his family. He enjoyed family gatherings, day trips to the beach, gardening, wine making, playing bocce and briscola. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Parish Church, 510 River Avenue, with condolences and viewing beginning at 10:00 am. Entombment will take place in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum at Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley Street, with Father Sam Argenzino as the celebrant. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph's Personal Care Home while he resided there this past year and Seven Oaks General Hospital - 3rd floor, unit 5 for the care provided during the last days of his life. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Centro Caboto Centre, 1055 Wilkes Avenue. Thank you Dad for everything you did for us. We love you and you'll be sadly missed by all. Rest in peace. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
