MURRAY KEMPTHORNE It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, uncle and cousin Murray Kempthorne who passed away peacefully at Westview Lodge in Boissevain on Saturday, December 15, 2018. Murray is survived and missed by his sister Edith Hobson of Winnipeg, brother Ernest (Pat) of Brandon, sister Maurena (Ross Svoboda) of Hamiota, seven nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. Murray was predeceased by his parents, Lorne and Marj Kempthorne, brother and sister-in-law Bill and Lorraine Kempthorne and brother-in-law Walter Hobson. Murray was born in Killarney on September 28, 1941 and raised on the family farm in the Desford district about 15 miles from Boissevain. Murray loved the farm and farming. He took over the family farm when his parents retired, and remained there until he himself retired to Jubilee Manor in Boissevain. Murray continued to enjoy working for farmers in the area, helping with cattle and combining, and spent many hours travelling the country side checking out the crops. Murray belonged to the Desford 4-H Calf Club, and as a young member had the Grand Champion Calf at the Boissevain Rally. He was also a member of the Boissevain 4-H Seed Club and the Boissevain Agriculture Society. Special thanks to Dr. Nell and the staff at Westview for their excellent and compassionate care.
