Helen was predeceased by her husband William (Bill), stepson Wayne, daughter Darlene, granddaughter Audra, and brothers, Bill, Herman and Arnold. Helen was born and raised in Moosehorn, MB. She moved to Winnipeg where she met Bill, fell in love and got married on October 16, 1948. They were married for 49 years where Mom raised five children in East Kildonan. In her 92 years she wore many hats. She was employed in the restaurant business, sewing industry and owned and operated a hardware store with her husband Bill. She had many interests including volunteering for the church, bowling, gardening and neighbourhood taxi service for her friends. She was an avid baker and was famous for her delicious apple pies which she made from her cherished apple tree in the backyard. She also loved to knit and crochet and made many keepsakes for everyone. Mom especially loved family time and was always willing to lend a helping hand. My great-grandma was a genuine, kind person. She always did her best as a grandma, she always helped her family the best she could. Many memories. It was hard seeing her the way she was after awhile and we always joked to make it better. I love her so much and will forever miss her. She was always telling me stories and my son loved her so much. She adored Hudson and never thought she would get to see a great-great-grandchild from my side. Thank you for being a big part of my life. I hope you are reunited with my grandma and mom. Xo - Posted by: Angelika (Great-granddaughter) on: Jan 16, 2019
