ELSIE ELVIRA GISLASON October 27, 1921 - January 4, 2019 Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of wonderful memories. Mom passed away peacefully at home with her family as was her wish. She is survived by her cherished family; sister Elverna Hanson; son Einar (Ed) Johnson (Barbara); daughter Donna Rae Johnson-Russell (Mark); daughter-in-law Geri Burnett; grandsons, Darren, Shane, Lance, Derek, David Johnson and Matthew, Kelly, Alexander Russell; great-grandchildren, Kristian, Gregory, Monica, Brianna, Piper, Skyler, Charmaine, Adora, Ari, Asta and Ayvy; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Wayne Johnson; husband Johann (Joe) Johnson; second husband Gardar Gislason; parents, Hjalmar and Mary Olson and siblings, Esther, Eric, Edward and Edwin. The family would like to thank the in-home palliative care team for their wonderful support in Mom's last weeks. We would also like to thank the Simkin Centre Day Program for many happy times spent there. She spoke fondly of Heather, Barbara and special friend Maria. Cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest with her son Wayne this coming summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V6.
