Bill was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Bill McMaster and is survived by his sister Barb, brother-in-law Chris, and niece Emma. Family was the most important to Bill. He was a wonderful son to both of his parents and shared a very special relationship with his sister. He was a kind and gentle person who worked for the last twenty-four years as the Branch Ambassador at the CIBC Portage West. Bill had numerous health issues and no matter how serious they were he was always positive and tried to make everyone around him feel welcome and appreciated. His favourite saying was "life is good." The family would like to thank Dr. Gerald Konrad for his compassionate care and support of Bill over the years. Bill will be missed by all that knew and loved him. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg on January 28, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the MS Society of Canada, Manitoba Division or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.

I am very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I knew him as Billy McMaster in school. He was a shy and kind person. I know he got bullied some for not being a macho hockey-playing guy-- we could all be so mean then--well, except him. He was also a truly EXCEPTIONALLY talented artist, and I always assumed he would do this as a career, he certainly had the ability. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Kristin Norget (former schoolmate) on: Jun 01, 2023

Bill, always reminded us of Robin Williams. He was a kind and gentle man. He always had a kind word for you and extremely considerate of others. He WILL be missed by all. Rest in peace, Bill. - Posted by: Jan Murray (CIBC customer) on: Jan 28, 2019

Our families were friends and neighbors on Dorchester Ave. when our kids played together. Bill was always a happy young fellow and we enjoyed him so much in the neighbourhood. So sorry to hear of Bill's passing, his life was cut much too short. He will be missed by all who knew him. Sincere condolences to Barb and family. - Posted by: Monica Gamble (Friend) on: Jan 23, 2019

The only time it seemed memorable to enter the bank was when Bill happened to be in the foyer ~ to greet you with his warm smile. He was always sincere & never failed to brighten the day. My condolences to his family. - Posted by: Brenda (CIBC client) on: Jan 19, 2019

I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. The McMaster's were one of my favorite families when I worked for Dr. Helper. I was able to see Bill again and chat with him when he would walk by the dental office in Grant Park. RIP Bill, you will be missed. - Posted by: Laura Melnyk Medven (acquaintance) on: Jan 19, 2019

The word "Ambassador" truly describes Bill. Trips to the bank will never be the same without Bill's personality. He knew so many clients by name and would call from a distance to make you feel welcome. He always found time to chat or solve anyone's questions. He will be genuinely missed. I speak from the heart as I have known Bill for his entire career with CIBC. His absence will be missed by so many. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Joy Buettner (Business Client) on: Jan 19, 2019

Both Bill and I were regulars at the Grant Park McDonalds and since both of us are/were extroverts, we naturally started talking! As a PC Financial (CIBC) customer who traveled all over town, I finally met him at the Crestview Branch. His extroverted personality certainly made him ideal as Branch Ambassador. He was a really sweet guy and his presence will be missed by all who knew him. My sincere condolences to Barb, Chris and Emma - Posted by: Gord Richardson (Acquaintance) on: Jan 19, 2019
