BILL (JOHN WILLIAM) MCGOWAN With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bill (John William) McGowan on January 8, 2019 at the age of 64. Bill is survived by his two sons, Brian and Joey, former wife Colleen McGowan, sisters, Noreen Lerch, Elaine McGowan and Pat Meier (George), brothers, George (Pat), Leonard (Doris), Fritz, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill grew up in Winnipeg and moved to Vancouver Island with the family in 1968, eventually moving back to Winnipeg for a few years where he met and married Colleen and started their family in Surrey, BC. Bill spent the majority of his working life as a dental repair technician. His passion was camping and hunting. He loved to tell stories of his hunting adventures and many mishaps. Memorial service: 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Northwood United Church, 8855 - 156 Avenue, Surrey, BC.
