GEORGE WILLIAM TANNER October 22, 1931 - January 27, 2019 Late in the evening of Sunday, January 27, George passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre. George will be profoundly missed by Terry, his wife of 58 years, their children, Gordon (Ardith) and Cindy (Mark), sister Elizabeth (Jack), grandchildren Kati-Lynn, Madison and Benjamin, and many nephews, nieces, in-laws and friends. George will always be remembered for his gentle spirit, his kindness and his mischievous sense of humour. His greatest joy in life was time spent with family and friends; at family dinners, visits from his granddaughters, vacationing in Hawaii, and most of all at his beloved Grand Beach which was the centerpiece of every one of his 87 summers. Heaven for George would be having the whole family with him at the cabin for one long, endless summer. Dad, you were a great husband and the best father, and you will be missed more than words can say. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, corner of Donald and Graham (please use Donald Street entrance), reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada or CancerCare Manitoba.
