LENA JANCZYN May 28, 1930 - February 6, 2019 Lena Janczyn passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at the age of 88. With her family by her side, she left us to be with her beloved husband Walter, whom she has been deeply missed since 2003. Mom leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Debbie (Rick) Sinclair and Bonnie (Barry) Schmidtke; her grandchildren, Lauren (Noah), Evan (Katie), Brandon (Christa) and Tana (Noel); and two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Sadie. She is also survived by her brother Eugene (Eleanor) Stefaniuk; sisters-in-law, Margery, Rose and Marie; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary (Rogocki) Stefaniuk; and brothers, Michael, William, Donald and Paul; sister-in-law Pat; nephews, Curtis and Melvin; and great-nephew Spenser. Lena was born and raised on the homestead in Allegra, MB. She married Walter Janczyn on May 28, 1955, on her birthday, and together they ran the family farm for five years. In 1960 they moved to Winnipeg where they owned and operated a business for 12 years. Here they raised their family, made many friends and created life lasting memories. In 1976 Mom started work with Eaton's Valley Room food services; retiring in 1995. Mom loved to make things and bake things. She was a wonderful homemaker and her talents were vast; from crocheting, embroidery, sewing, gardening, baking and delicious home cooking and canning. After Dad's passing, Mom moved back to Beausejour to be close to family. She continued to enjoy Eaton's Retirement Club, Club 50, Beau-Head Seniors Club, handi-van trips and finding treasures at garage sales. During the last few years, Mom required support through homecare and resided at East Gate Lodge. Many thanks to the staff for all the care and compassion they showed and provided for our mother. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour with interment following in Beausejour Town Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
