JAMES (JIM) COADY It is with great sadness that we announce James (Jim) Coady passed away peacefully on February 9, 2019 at the age of 90. He is predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Coady, siblings, Wilma, Wanda, Jack, Frank, Vern and wife, Alice. He is survived by his children, William (Sandy) and Margaret; stepchildren, Janet, Ron (Ruth) and Lynn (Richard), stepgrandchildren, Jonathan and Alana; and his sisters, Jackie (Gary) and Pat (John). Jim was born in Tramping Lake, Saskatchewan and grew up in the small town of Luseland, Saskatchewan. His job with the TD Bank eventually took him and his young family to Winnipeg, where he completed his 40-year career with TD Bank. Jim enjoyed his work and friends at the bank very much. Jim would always find the positive in any situation, was a good friend to many, and always loved socializing with his family and others. He enjoyed his retirement years as a snow bird in Phoenix, and travelling across Canada and through Europe with Alice. He loved to play cards and shoot pool with friends and family. He loved music especially the polka and loved to dance. He was an avid fan of the Winnipeg Jets and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Thank you to all the home care nurses and aides at Sturgeon Creek I Retirement Residence; and doctors and nurses at the Grace Hospital 3S who made his final days comfortable. A service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, on Tuesday, February 19 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetics Association, Diabetes Canada, 1400-522 University Avenue, Toronto, ON M5G 2R5.
