Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDERRICK SUTHERLAND November 9, 1965 - February 23, 2019 With heavy hearts, the family is sad to announce the passing of Derrick Sutherland on February 23, 2019. Derrick was a kind and gentle man who loved his family and friends. He had a special love for his mom Minnie Sutherland, sisters, Sharon, Shelley, and brother Rick. Derrick cherished his time spent with his nieces and nephews, Lee, Vanessa, Travis and Chelsea, great-nephew Devon, and great-niece Quinni. Derrick has already joined his father Frank, and good friend Ed, for a great day of fishing. We will miss Derrick forever but the memories and love will always be in our hearts. Services will be held at the Stony Mountain United Church, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. Please join our family in a Celebration of Life for Derrick Donald Frank Sutherland.

I would like to express our sorrow in the passing of Derrick at such a young age. He always made us laugh and we sure had some fun parties in the day. Wes and Derrick had this very loud laugh they would do together and Wes said that he will miss his laughing friend dearly. Our love goes out to the whole family and especially our BFF Sharon for their loss. This bud's for you Derrick and rest in peace. I've known Derrick for over 20 years. And to be honest, when I was a teen he intimidated me. I was actually a little afraid of his rough/gruff tough side. Until just over 5 years ago got to know him more to realized what an amazing guy he was. I wish I could have known him longer as the big teddy bear he really was. I will miss seeing his face around Stonewall with his mom and or sister. My deepest condolences to his family and closest friends. I will miss you my friend.
