THOMAS GEORGE BODIE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Thomas George Bodie, on February 27, 2019, at 92 years of age. He was predeceased by his parents, Joanne and Nicholas; and siblings, Olga, Bill (Nadia) and Alec (Mary). Thomas is survived by his wife Oksana, of 65 years; daughters, Patricia and Janice; and his grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Metro (Frances); brother-in-law Atanazie and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Thomas worked in the finance industry and retired as a Financial Planner with RBC Dominion Securities. He was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage and was involved in many of the Ukrainian organizations in Winnipeg, including Ukrainian Catholic Brotherhood of Canada vested with Knighthood in the Order of St. Volodymyr, patron Saint of the Ukrainian Catholic Brotherhood of Canada, a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, and a 4th degree member of Canon Luhovy Assembly. He was a life member of the Ukrainian Business and Professional Club, St. Nicholas Ukrainian Mutual Benefit Association of Canada and Sons of Ukrainian Pioneers. He was involved for many years with the fundraising dinner for Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Winnipeg and St. Vladimir College in Roblin. Thomas was also a very active member of Holy Eucharist Church, volunteering with the perogy project, bingo, altar boys and he was a Eucharistic Minister. The family would like to thank Dr. Taras Babick and Dr. Andrea Babick for their compassion and care. We would also like to extend a special thank you to the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate and all the staff of Holy Family Home. Your caring and compassion are greatly appreciated. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by Fr. Michael Kwiatkowski on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 505 Watt Street, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Thomas's memory may be made to Holy Family Home, care of the Lubov Foundation, 1085 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB R2W 1T9 or a charity of your choice. Treasured forever in our memory. VICHNAYA PAMYAT Korban Funeral Chapel (204) 956-2193

  • "Strayko" and later, "Uncle Tom" enriched our lives. I have never been with him where he did not have a smile and a joke for me. What a gentleman! He treated my girls with such love and respect. One of a kind. He is at peace now. Vichnaya Pamyat - Posted by: Joanne (Niece) on: Mar 02, 2019
