• I met Marlene working at the HSC/WRHA payroll office. She trained me when I first started and then she became my mentor and friend for many years. She was a dedicated, hardworking employee always willing to provide support to the payroll office staff and she did her best for every employee that contacted our office. She loved to joke and laugh and had a song for every occasion. Marlene spoke lovingly of her family and adored her grandchildren and spending time with them. She enjoyed her friends, her pets, and her garden and was always excited to see all of the wild creatures that chanced by. • I had the pleasure of meeting Marlene in the early 1980's and working with her in the Human Resources Department at the Health Sciences Centre for a couple of years and continued as I transferred back to the Finance Department. Our friendship remained steadfast for many, many years until retirement separated us; as it tends to do with so many of us. I was saddened to hear of Marlene's untimely passing at such an early age. My deepest heartfelt condolences to Jack, her dear children and grandchildren. • I have many fond memories of Marlene, working alongside her during my years at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre. Always smiling, dedicated and hard working despite all the many problems and hassles that can happen in a very large payroll service. She was definitely an asset to our Human Resources Department.
