Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • I met Mr. Olesky at Red River College while attending a business law course. He was an excellent teacher. Many years later I was going through a difficult family estate matter which had been going through the court system, from Queen's Bench through to Appeal Court of Manitoba that lasted many years. A Trust was put in place. At the end of that Trust, as a beneficiary, I needed a lawyer and went to see Mr. Olesky to ask for his help. He protected my interest so that I was not taken advantage of (as I was when I did not have him in the past). The family estate was closed without going further into court. He had excellent legal skills and he was an honest lawyer who had compassion and did not take advantage of his clients. I know there are not many like him today. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Lesley (student/client) on: Apr 14, 2020

  • Very kind and an amazing human being. I used to meet him for Notary services and he was always extremely accommodating. I was trying his phone number back in April and it kept going to voicemail. Just saw this now. My condolences to his family and may he RIP. - Posted by: Nitin Punj (Client) on: Jul 17, 2019

  • I don’t know what I would have done without Ron Olesky. When my father, Joe Gelmon, died on Sept. 22, 2017, Ron took care of things. My father’s lawyer, the late Morse (Mesh) Silden, was sick and Mr. Olesky took over his files, with assistance from Mr. Silden. When my father was three weeks away from death I walked unannounced into Mr. Olesky’s office and told him I needed advice on getting Power of Attorney for my father because his condo was for sale and he was in no position to say yes or no. First time I met him, but he stopped what he was doing and called Mr. Silden at home. Thanks to Mr. Olesky and Mr. Silden, who died last September, I was able to obtain Power of Attorney about 10 days before my father died. That was important because I was in the process of changing real estate agents for my father’s condo and I needed money for funeral related expenses and other costs that occur when a loved one dies. He also helped with the sale of my late father’s condo. That was first time I owed real property and posibly the last, so I owe a lot of thanks to Mr. Olesky. I’m so glad that Ron Olesky attended the unveiling of my father’s tombstone last Labour day weekend. - Posted by: John Gelmon (Client) on: Mar 27, 2019

  • My deepest condolences to Mr. Olesky's family. My late Father Joe Malcolm worked with Ron for many, many years. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this very difficult time. - Posted by: Wendy Malcolm (Client) on: Mar 27, 2019

  • We are so very sorry to hear this news about Ron Olesky. He was our lawyer for many years and no one can ever replace him. Never again will we call that number and have him answer on the first ring the way he did "Ronolesky" (all one word that slowly fades away) and that makes me cry. Wish I had thought to record it. No one could hold a candle to him. Even though he usually asked us to make copies of things and help him sort through documents while he wrote up a mortgage or some such. We'll never again find a lawyer that offers a page for our signature and then take it back to ask so sternly "Are you SURE?" He took such good care of us in his extremely careful way. We'll miss giving him a ride home once in awhile and all the laughs we shared over the years. We'll definitely miss his good advice. Twyla & Vince - Posted by: Twyla (Client) on: Mar 26, 2019
