Date of Passing: Mar 20, 2019
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHANNA LOEPPKY July 12, 1935 - March 20, 2019 Johanna was born in the old Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg and raised in a farming community in Halbstadt, Manitoba, the youngest in a family of 18 children. She lived her adult life in Winnipeg with her sisters, Trudy and Eva. In spring of 2005 she moved to Lions Place and spent 14 happy years there. She enjoyed socializing over good food along with lively conversations sprinkled with humour, listening to classical music, reading inspirational writings, having heart to heart discussions, and reminiscing about her growing up days. At the end of February Johanna had a fall, resulting in admission to hospital. Complications weakened her condition and the morning of March 20 her request that "God open the gates and let her in" was granted. Johanna died very peacefully. She leaves an empty place in the family and will be missed by two sisters, one brother, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street. Interment will be in Halbstadt Cemetery between 3:00 and 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Union Gospel Mission, Winnipeg.
