Following a long struggle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eleanor Ulasy on March 28, 2019, at St. Boniface Hospital, with her sister at her side. Eleanor was born June 29, 1935.
She is predeceased by her parents, Julius and Helen Ulasy, infant sister Sabina, brother and sister-in-law Lawrence and Rita, brother-in-law Boris Senkiw, sister Adele Fender, and niece Lucy Dolphin.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Eugene and Olive, sister Phyllis Senkiw, brother-in-law Alvin Fender, many nieces, nephews and their families, as well as numerous dear friends.
Eleanor was a devout Roman Catholic, longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Cathedral, advocate and activist for numerous causes close to her heart. She was proud of her community and loved the people that lived there.
She cherished time spent with family and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
A Funeral Mass will be held on April 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral, 353 St. Mary Avenue with Father Peter Nemcek officiating.
Special thanks to Father Geoffrey Angeles who was very special to Eleanor.
The family wishes also to thank Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassion and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Cathedral, 353 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 0M8.
