HELEN PHILIP BACON
August 12, 1922 - January 15, 2019

Helen Philip Bacon, one of four daughters of Bill and Jeannie Lyon, was born in The Pas, Manitoba. After a four year stint in the R.C.A.F. Helen's beau Ernest and she were married October 26, 1942, settled in Winnipeg, where she worked for the Toronto Dominion Bank for 40 years, controlling the flow of cash in the province of Manitoba. Helen and Ernie were members of St. Matthews Anglican Church in Winnipeg for many years.
They both retired in 1982 and spent their summers at Chadwick Lake, ON and their winters in Victoria, BC. In 1994 they bought a manufactured home in Lannon Creek Park, Sooke, BC, where she was active for 17 years at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in various church ministries. Helen loved all animals; feeding birds and taking in stray cats.
Helen died peacefully at her home in the Alexander Mackie Lodge in Victoria, BC.
She is survived by her sisters, Janet Grice, Billy Kneale (Jim) and their families; as well as dear friends Martin and Kathy Knight. She was predeceased by her sister Pat Ambrose.
Memorial services were held Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Sooke, BC.
