JOHN NEUFELD
February 9, 1949 - April 3, 2019

John (Hansi) Neufeld of Colleyville, Texas, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on April 3, 2019 in North Richmond Hills, Texas.
He will be forever remembered as the kindest, sweetest, most unconditionally loving Opa, father, husband, son, brother, friend, boss, teacher, neighbour and colleague to all those that had the fortunate pleasure of knowing him.
He was born to Bernhard and Katharina Neufeld on February 9, 1949 in Paraguay and from his first days, John strove to build a better "family" wherever he went. With a natural sunny disposition and a calm and loving manner, he chose to see the best in people, tried to eliminate conflict and support harmony. John was a born nurturer, teacher, leader, storyteller and provider; he was a strong, sturdy branch on any tree. Always with a mischievous glint in his eye and peace in his heart, John was up for anything, anytime. Laughing easily, sparkle in his green eyes, he was ready to share a joke or his latest anecdote with you. His ability to love and care will continue with us forever.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his daughters, Stacey and her husband, Neil; Shara and her husband, Adrian; his much adored granddaughters: Emmerson, Quincey, Simone and Julia; his brothers: Viktor and Bernie, his sisters: Elfrieda, Irma, Hertha, Ruth and Margaret (Marge) and their spouses: Rosula, Hartmut (Hardy), Jackie, Don, Walfried (Wally) and Alain; beloved son-in-law to Ruby Mohammed and her family; Farouk (Sadia), Judy (Joe), Chandra, Randy, Peter (Jocelyn) and Wendy (Edwin), his many beloved nieces and nephews and his many great-nieces and great-nephews.
The memorial service was held at 1:30 p.m. on April 7, 2019 at the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel.
A Winnipeg memorial service and celebration will be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • We met John at the London Sky a hotel in Odessa on the shores of the Black Sea. He and his wife and two brothers were preparing to set sail on the Dnieper River to explore their Ancestral lands. My husband and I would be aboard that same ship and it was while sailing on that ship that we came to look forward to his friendly greetings. As his obituary says he had a great sense of fun and always appeared ready to nurture relationships, as did his wife Linda. We wish to tell Linda and Viktor and Bernie how shocked and sad we were to read of John’s passing in our morning paper. We offer you our sincerest sympathies and we know that you will all be a support to each other. John made a Positive impact on the passengers on that Mennonite heritage cruise and how much larger his presence in your lives and therefore how great your loss. Condolences to his entire family from Lori and Phil Klassen Winnipeg - Posted by: Lori Klassen (Acquaintance ) on: Apr 13, 2019
