ROBERT JAMES (BOB) BELL
Bob will lovingly be remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 64 years, Betty; son Scott and daughter-in-law Lisa; his two grandchildren, Brady and Jaime DeLuca; brother-in-laws; sister-in-laws; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Bob was very proud of his chosen career as a police officer with the City of Winnipeg from which he retired in 1989 after serving 29+ years. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (Badge #78) and was well respected within the Service.
In Bob's younger years, he participated in curling, fishing, golfing and enjoyed camping at Manipogo with family and friends. He enjoyed playing various card and board games as well as travelling south with friends. In his later years, he became a spectator of various sports spending much cherished time with Betty watching TV in the veranda in their Winnipeg Avenue home.
Bob was a caring and helpful man to all who knew him often chauffeuring friends or being the neighbourhood handyman.
Above all, he adored his family and looked forward to spending time with them. He was a mentor to many, especially to his son Scott.
Many thanks to the staff of Heritage Lodge and Holy Family Home for their care and compassion over the past several months.
As per Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal funeral service. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing may make contributions to a charity of choice.
