December 31, 1962 - April 9, 2019

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my beautiful wife, and our mother, baba, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, cousin, aunt and friend.
Pauline passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at St. Pierre Jolys De Salaberry Hospital, with her family by her side. She fought a hard battle against multiple myeloma cancer. She gave it everything she had up until the very end.
Pauline will be lovingly remembered by her husband Orest, of 33 years; daughters, Krista (Bryan) Gourlie, Lisa (Coleton) Swaikoski, Stephanie, and son Matthew (Brigitte); as well as her adored grandchildren, Taylor, Landen, Ryder, Lauren and Isaiah.
Pauline is also survived by her mother Katherine, sister Betty, brothers, Nick (Shelagh) and Danny (Marilyn), sisters-in-law, Patricia (Peter) Gawronsky, Elizabeth (Mike) Kozun, and brother-in-law Raymond (Karen), as well as many aunts, uncles, niece, nephews and many loved ones.
Pauline was predeceased by her father Walter, sister-in-law Deborah (Gross) Polischuk, father-in-law and mother-in-law Krist and Effie (Chubey) Christiuk.
Pauline was born December 31, 1962, in Dominion City, MB. She attended Shevchenko school in Vita, MB. After high school she moved to Winnipeg and worked at Jostens. In January 1983, she met the love of her life Orest, at Malanka in Sarto, MB. Orest and Pauline married in Dufrost, MB on October 12, 1985. Pauline stayed home and raised their four children and farmed with her husband and his family. In 2002, she went to work at Biovail Corporation in their packaging department. She was also a member of Toastmasters, Woodmore Women's Institute and the Dufrost Curling Ladies Auxiliary, along with many other organizations.
Special thanks to the Steinbach Cancer Care, Health Sciences Centre and the St. Pierre Jolys De Salaberry Hospital staff for the compassion and care shown to Pauline and her family.
Donations can be made to the St. Mary's Congregation, Dufrost, MB, or to a charity of one's choice.
Funeral service will be held Monday, April 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with viewing starting at 9:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 PTH 52W, Steinbach, MB., with interment to follow at the Dufrost Cemetery at a later date.
