DAVID SITFORD HARDIE
1947 - 2019

Surrounded by love and laughter, Dave passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at St. Boniface Hospital.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Trudy Hardie, brothers, Bill and Ron, sister-in-law Carol Hardie, and his two best companions, Patches and Gilmore.
Dave is dearly missed by his wife Elaine, daughter Melissa Andruniak, grandchildren, Savannah and Evan, and their dad Kyle, sister-in-law June Hardie, in-laws, Sharon and Royce Yackel, Brian McCalder and Nancy McLaren, and Allan and Nancy McCalder, along with numerous nieces, nephews and their families, and numerous friends.
Dave retired from the Seven Oaks School Division after 34 years of friendly greetings and great friendships.
Dave loved fishing, hunting and enjoyed his camping trips with friends and family. However, when introduced to "cars" that became his second love. He also enjoyed golfing, trips down south with friends and Thursday night chicken wings with the guys.
Dave loved his grandchildren, starting in 2009 and again in 2012 - Savannah and Evan brought a new twinkle to granddad's eyes and was always eager to hear of their adventures and he lived for their hugs.

  • Sincere condolences to the Hardie family. I have many fond memories of Dave delivering the Seven Oaks mail to Constable Finney School when I worked there. Many mornings were spent (before the students arrived) thinking of ways to bug Dave. We would post signs on his van "Honk if you love Sylvia Kusick", tie tin cans to his back bumper and other things to annoy Dave in a good natured fashion. He would blame us for the inclement weather or other things of which we had no control. He always made the EAs laugh and we enjoyed our early morning visits with him. He truly was a wonderful guy with a great sense of humour! He will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. - Posted by: Renée Harsant (EA Seven Oaks ) on: Apr 27, 2019

  • Dear Elaine and family: Please know that we are so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. We were talking to Dave two weeks ago in I.G.A., but did not know he had been sick. Fred and Dave had on-going "discussions" about Dave rooting for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Fred cheering on the Bombers. Our thoughts, and sympathies go out to the family. Be strong for one another, and always keep Dave in your hearts. We will miss you, Dave.
