On Sunday, April 14, 2019 Marie Therese Wilcott (nee Joly) passed away peacefully, at the Foyer Valade in Winnipeg, at the age of 96. Marie Therese was born on April 24, 1922 in St. Claude, MB.
She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Marceline Joly, her husband Emilien, her brother Henry Joly, sons-in-law, Pierre Leclair and Wilfred McIntyre, and her daughter-in-law Sandra Wilcott.
In 1945, Marie Therese married Emilien and they spent the early years of their marriage in St. Claude. They eventually moved to St. Georges where they settled to raise their family.
She leaves to mourn her passing her sister, Henriette Joly, and her five children, Marie Leclair, Aline McIntyre, Norbert Wilcott, Alain Wilcott (Linda) and Gilles Wilcott (Ruena). Memere Wilcott will be sadly missed by her nine grandchildren, Micheline and Rene, Tanya and Ian, Casey and Luke, Erin, Jody and Megan. Marie Therese was blessed with 21 great-grandchildren, Rheanne, Stephanie and Justin, Mackenzie and Evan, Aiden, Ainsley and Caius, Jaxon and Isabelle, Cayden, Danica, Dominic, Paige and Quinn, Willem and Edie, Moira and Theo, Benjamin and Eli.
The family of Marie Therese would like to express our deep gratitude to the dedicated staff at Foyer Valade for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided for the past several years.
The Funeral Mass will be held in St. Georges, MB at the Paroisse St. Georges on April 24, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the St. Georges cemetery. Luncheon will follow in the Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Actionmarguerite Foyer Valade.

  • Thinking of you all during this time. Auntie Marie Therere will be missed. One of my funny memories was in Nakusp with Auntie and we were trying so hard to get her into the hot springs.
