December 5, 1938 - March 27, 2019

With profound sadness, I announce the passing of my husband, E. Alan Kessler, partners in all aspects of our lives for over 57 years. He passed away unexpectedly in Palm Springs, CA on March 27, 2019.
He loved the warmth and the sunshine and spent 12 winters in Palm Desert, CA tending his roses and enjoying his winter home and his many special friends.
Alan was predeceased by his daughter Laurie in 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Huston) Kessler; his son A. Kevin Kessler and his wife Sharon Kessler and two granddaughters, Kaylene and Shayla Kessler; as well as his siblings, Bonnie (Maurice) Mazerolle, Dianne (Chuck) Biggs and Hugh Kessler.
Alan was born in Winnipeg and except for a short time in Thunder Bay, proudly called Winnipeg home.
He was the founder and president of New-West Metals Inc. for over 25 years and was well known in the metals industry.
He was a kind, gentle person with a special smile. He loved music and attended and supported the arts in many forms.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 at The Gates on Roblin, 6945 Roblin Blvd. from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If friends desire, a donation in Alan's memory may be made to the Alan and Shirley Kessler Fund at the Winnipeg Foundation, 1350 One Lombard Place, Winnipeg, MB R3B 0X3 or to a charity of your choice.
