JEAN MELLON
(WESTBROOK) (nee BERBEKA)
April 8, 1921 - April 17, 2019
She was born in Winnipeg, April 8, 1921, to Stanley and Mary Berbeka, the youngest of six children.
She is survived by her nephew Edward Nicholson (Alanna) and family of Winnipeg; nephews, Leroy and Daniel Berk, of California, and niece Claudia Westbrook, of BC. Her close remaining friends are Sim and Ken Bednarz.
Jean married Samuel Westbrook in 1943. They had a wonderful life together of fun, laughter and travel while managing Winnipeg Wheel Works, together until they retired to their S-J Ranch outside of St. Laurent. Sam passed away in 1983. In 1988 Jean married David Mellon, until his passing in 2011.
In 2016 she moved to the Riverside Lions Supportive Housing, where she received excellent care. Her final days at Misericordia Hospital Cornish Two had been serviced by very caring and professional staff.
As per Jean's request, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A private celebration will take place at a later date.
