October 1, 1925 – March 16, 2019

On Saturday at 10:00 a.m., April 27 at
Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Bernice Sholdra.
Berni was born in Crandall, MB to William and Anne Black, the middle child of seven siblings. Stonewall was where she was raised, educated and employed until her marriage to Michael Sholdra. Early years of marriage saw Berni and Mike living in Winnipeg and
Portage la Prairie, during which time
daughters, Sandra and Cathy were born. In 1957 the family moved to East Kildonan and that became home for the next 60 years. Berni was a curler at Rossmere for many years, a world traveller when Mike's work took him to Ceylon and an avid sports fan. She had a zest for life and only wished to have been able to see her great-grandchildren reach adulthood.
Berni was predeceased by her parents,
siblings, Mary White and Wally Black,
daughter Cathy and husband Michael.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Wally) Turk, grandsons, Brad (Shelley) and David (Melissa), granddaughter Lisa
(Jonathan) and devoted niece Shirley. Her
seven great-grandchildren were a source of great pride and enjoyment. Surviving siblings are Alice Karasewich, Pauline Curry, Jack Black and Geraldine Murphy as well as
numerous nieces and nephews.
The family sincerely thanks everyone who filled Mom's life with love, laughter and friendship.
