My Dearest and Most Precious "Bettie"
It broke my heart to lose you
But you did not go alone
For part of me went with you
The day God called you home.

I have lost my soul's companion
A life linked with my own
And day by day I miss you more
As I walk through life alone.

Every day is filled with memories
And loving thoughts of you
For all the caring words and thoughtful deeds
That you always would say and do.

You were everything to me
My partner and my friend
And although you had to leave me
Our love will never end.

I think about you always
And talk about you my dear
I have such beautiful memories
But I wish you were still here.

The sun still rises in the east
And darkness falls at night
But nothing now seems quite the same
Each day, not as bright.

I hold you close, within my heart
And there you will always remain
Until that glorious day I hear God beckon
When, my love, we are forever reunited
in eternal life in Heaven.
