DONNA MARIE JOHNSON
(MARCHAK-CHMARA)
July 30, 1940 - April 22, 2019
Donna was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Anne Chmara; brother Leon Chmara; husband Leonard Marchak, in 1993; and husband Gerald Johnson, in 2017.
Donna is survived by her two sons, Dean Marchak, wife Leanne and son Bradley. Son Dale Marchak, sister Joy (Paul) Knysh, nephew Garret Knysh and grandson Zachary Marchak.
Donna was raised and worked her earlier years in Winnipeg until she met Leonard, at which time they started their adventures together. Moving to Red Lake, Ontario and starting their family.
After a few years they found themselves back in Manitoba where they settled in Gimli and welcomed a second son.
Donna's favourite times were camping and fishing. Many summer weekends she could be found with her family at Camp Morton, Calders Dock, Arnes or any place a fishing rod could be in the water.
After Leonard passed in 1993, Mom was lucky to find her best friend Gerry. After their wedding, they retired and spent their time travelling Canada coast to coast, and throughout the United States.
Donna's real joy was her only grandson Zachary. The way those two would laugh, joke and enjoy their time these last few years were extremely special times.
As per Donna's wishes, cremation has taken place.
It takes Someone brave to be a mother,
Someone strong to raise two sons, and
Someone special to love them
more then herself.
