In loving memory

Our hearts were joined the day we wed.
For 52 years we shared life wherever it led.
Then came the day we had to part
You had to go, it broke my heart.
You didn't deserve what you went through
I felt your pain, as I journeyed with you
I miss your humour, I miss your smile
I'd love to chat with you a while
Still you are here in the twinkling light,
I say "Hi Hon, how was your night?"
I close my eyes and feel your touch,
I smell your scent I miss so much
With tear-stained face I am here alone
In this empty space that was our home
Please wait for me at Heaven's door
Where we will be joined as we were before,
Once more we'll meet with a joyful glance
To love and laugh, perhaps to dance.
I miss you so I always will
I loved you then, I love you still.
