Our deepest condolences go to Iris and her family. I first met George some 30 years ago at the Gimli yacht club, where we both sailed. I had a Fireball dinghy, and George had a keelboat. We initially had some "bumpy" times, because of George's gruff initial impression, but became good friends. We sailed many cruises together on his "Nemesis" on Lake Winnipeg, some extending to one or two weeks. We enjoyed some good times together, and George helped me through a rough time in my life. He was a good friend that I have thought of often. - Posted by: Chic & Joyce Seabrook (Friend) on: May 11, 2019

In 1954 when I left the army and George had left the police force we were both students at MIT taking the same Mechanical Design course. George gave me rides to and from MIT. We had many discussions on many topics of the day on those rides . I last spoke to him many years ago in a phone conversation I had on one of my return trips to see my family in Winnipeg. He was a great guy and a good friend. - Posted by: J. R. Stooke (Friend) on: May 11, 2019
