CLAIRE TRUDEL
(née MAYNARD)
October 31, 1935 - May 9, 2019

Also her siblings: Roger, Annette, Marcel (Irene) and Blanche (Andre). She was predeceased by her parents, Domina and Clara Maynard, her siblings: Cecile, Georges, Denis, Alice, Henry and Germaine.
Writing an obituary seems very final. It is particularly difficult to compose essentially a 'rough draft' of our mother's life, considering she and our dad lived an abundantly full life. Claire spent her youth in St. Malo, Manitoba. Her marriage to Marcel led her to Northern Manitoba, and ultimately to Brandon, Manitoba. She was sweet, funny, kind, but also feisty. Her genuine love for others was transparent through her sweet disposition, sense of humour, and smile. This same love left her constantly worrying about us, bragging on us to strangers, and encouraging us in all life pursuits. Claire had an undeniable love for sewing, gardening, bowling, and playing bingo with friends. Sadly, this was our first Mother's Day without a mother. However, Claire always remained steadfast in her faith when facing trials, and we know we can follow her example. Her example is to remain focused on what is truly important, not only when life is easy, but when it is difficult.
A Funeral Mass will be held on May 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., at the St. Malo Parish Church, 5 rue Saint Malo, St. Malo, MB. Interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Actionmarguerite Foundation Ghislaine-Lacerte Fund or CancerCare Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Your mom was a role model to me when my family was not. She always took me in, and made sure I was ok. There aren't enough words I can say to even convey how important she, and the rest of your family was to me. I am so so sorry. My deepest condolences. - Posted by: Michelle (Friend) on: May 14, 2019

  • Claire et moi avons appris à demeurer très proche malgré la distance, et c'est à distance que je pleure sont départ. To Francine, Claude et Colette I offer my condolences. I didn't get to see you often but I kept up with your lives through the many phone calls to Claire. She would tell me how proud she was of you and I knew you took good care of her through the stories she told me. I could feel her love for all of us. I will miss her... - Posted by: Blanche Ruest (Soeur) on: May 14, 2019
