JANETTE MARY HARGREAVES
Janette is survived by her parents, Raymund and Kathleen; her brother David, his daughters, Chantel and Brianne; her sister Julie Meakin and husband Kyle; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada and the U.K. She also leaves behind her loving boyfriend Trevor Coulthard, and numerous friends.
Janette was born on August 20, 1970 in Prince Albert, SK, and then moved to Winnipeg. She graduated from Oak Park High School and obtained employment with Central Park Lodge, achieving a 20-year service award. She was a member of Special Olympics and won many gold medals over the years in Rhythmic Gymnastics. Janette also participated in bowling, where she met Trevor. She enjoyed living with friends in a group home, hosting house parties and spending time at the lake cottage. Having been bitten by the travel bug very young, through trips to England with her family, she was always excited to be planning the next holiday. In 2016, Janette moved to St. Amant where she received kind and compassionate care. Janette was a gentle soul and showed deep concern for others. She loved life, loved to laugh and at every social she would always be up and dancing all night until the music stopped. Her kindness and zest for life will be greatly missed.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Avenue, on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow. Final resting place will be at the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum at Assumption Cemetery in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The family would like to give special thanks to Connect Employment Services, DASCH Inc., St. Amant, and the Grace Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Connect Employment Services or the St. Amant Foundation.

Dear Kathleen and Ray, I am so sorry to see that Janette has passed away! I have so many fond memories of time spent in her company. I remember the first party that she had in her first apartment. She made sure to have lemon for my tea. I was very touched by her thoughtfulness. I remember Rhythmic Gymnastics competitions when Jennifer was competing and Janette was competing also. She was such a happy and kind soul and I know you will miss her dearly. May God be with you in this sad time. Take care! Maureen Jackson - Posted by: Maureen Jackson (Friend) on: May 25, 2019
Our sincere condolences to your family on the passing of your daughter, Janette. She was always so friendly, caring and joyful when we talked with her at Special Olympics Rhythmic gymnastics. Thank you for the mother to mother talks we shared Kathleen. We offer our support to you now as you willingly gave us support when our girls were younger! We remember you all fondly from the early years of Parent to Parent and will always be grateful for your guidance and wisdom when Lisa was young and we were new parents.
