JACK (JACOB) UNGER
March 12, 1929 - May 18, 2019
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary (nee Toews) and his three children, Grant Unger and wife Cindy, Shirley Unger and Rob Hartle, Dianne and husband John Busby, and grandchildren, Russell, Riley and Emily Unger.
Jack was born in Osterwick, MB. Jack and Mary resided in Winnipeg. Jack was an
automobile mechanic for many years. He was well known for his work. He later worked for the Department of Highways. Jack and Mary built their retirement home in Sandy Hook, MB. and enjoyed many happy years there. They later moved back to Winnipeg to be
closer to family and friends. Jack never had idle hands. He always had some hobby on the go. He was an avid woodworker and created many beautiful things. He was quite the
puzzle solver as well.
The family would like to thank the
Winnipeg Fire Paramedics who attended the home for their kindness and compassion in our time of need.
Funeral service will be held Friday, May 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre.

To the entire Unger family sorry to hear about Jack's passing. I have many fond memories of Jack working in the garage on Rita Street or at the lake. He was always eager to get things accomplished. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Rob Isfeld - Posted by: Robert Isfeld (Friend) on: May 22, 2019
