IRENE TETREAULT
(nee TREMBLAY)
April 10, 1935 - May 16, 2019
She is survived by her three children, Robert (Cathi), Janine (Wayne) and Carole (Grant); and her grandchildren, Chantal, Camille, Ben and Céline.
She was predeceased by her husband Donat Tétreault; her parents, Theodore and Marie Jeanne Tremblay and her brother Roland.
Irène was born in the farming community of St. Joseph, Manitoba on April 10, 1935. She went on to Normal School, in St. Boniface where she would graduate as a teacher and obtained her first job in a one room school house in Ross, MB. This is where she would later meet her husband Donat and one year after they were married in 1958, started her family. She stayed home to raise her children and when her youngest started school, Irène returned to the second love of her life, teaching elementary school children. She taught until the age of 65 and then went on to enjoy her retirement years with her family and friends.
A big heartfelt thank you to all of the wonderful, caring staff who work at the Villa Youville in Ste. Anne for taking such good care of our mother.
The memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB, with an ash interment at a later date.
Donations in memory of Irène may be made to Crohn's and Colitis Canada, P.O. Box 20009, 3310 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3G 0M4.

We wish to express our deepest sympathy to Robert, Janine, Carole and their families on the loss of their mother. It is unfortunate that we cannot travel to Manitoba at this time, but just to let you know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. It is comforting to know that Donat and Irene are reunited again. Our love, Uncle Denis & Aunt Aline xoxo - Posted by: Denis & Aline Tetreault (sister-in-law) on: May 23, 2019

Madame was my son’s Grade two teacher. I absolutely loved her. She was one of the best teachers he ever had. She loved her job and it always showed through her teachings. My deepest sympathies to her family. She will be in my prayers. - Posted by: Susan Luby (Parent of a past student) on: May 22, 2019
