It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma, Verna, on May 18, 2019, at the age of 87.
Verna is survived by her children, Jim (Marian), Barbara, Linda (Don), Marian (Greg); grandchildren, Keith (Melissa), Nick (Bobbi-Jo), Amanda (Christiaan), Candace (Douglas), Lindsay (Ryan), Don (Jenny), Ashley (Sean), Anthony (Lauren), Chad (Samantha); great-grandchildren, Hailey-Jo, Kaylee, Luca, Ryker, Kole, Lilly, Luci, Jacob, Owen, Kaiden, Chloe, Levi, Evelyn, and Karson; brothers, Larry, Ernie, Ron and Arnie; sister Merlene, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband James; parents, Walter and Marjorie; brother Len; and sister Kay.
Verna dedicated her life to her family. It began with her kids, carried on to her grandkids, but when the great-grandkids came along, that was her inspiration and drive. Verna lived to watch the kids play and enjoy Ingolf, helped care for them, and loved them like no other. All the kids knew where to go if they ever wanted ice cream, ruffles, pringles, any of the good treats, Great-Grandma had them!
Verna has left an impact on everyone around her with her kindness, love and stubbornness, which many will claim to have inherited (as a good thing). With heavy hearts of sadness today, each day forward will be filled with love, stories and countless memories.

You will be forever loved, rest easy, G!

In keeping with Verna's wishes, cremation has taken place and a family service was held.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I grew up at the cabin next door where our family and the Robertson family spent our summers. “Aunty” Verna was always always kind and welcoming, always with a smile, often laughing, always generous. I felt very comfortable at their cabin. Linda and Barb, Marianne and Jim, I am so sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Kim Kuzak (Friend ) on: May 27, 2019

  • Sorry to hear of Vernas passing. Our parents (Bing & Loraine Crabb) used to get together with Jim and Verna for Christmas dinner. That was many years ago. My sister Pat Maloney and myself used to see Jim and Verna at Club Regent playing bingo. I will miss both of your parents. My thoughts are with your whole family, children, grandchildren, and great - grandchildren. - Posted by: Sherry (Crabb) Sarna (cousin) on: May 26, 2019
