JAKOB KLASSEN
He is survived by his wife of 66 years,
Elizabeth Klassen, his sons, Victor (Caroline), Willy (Nicole), daughters, Maria (Dieter),
Elsie (Chris) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jake's passion in life besides his family was his love of gardening, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Jake was a carpenter and was well known across Winnipeg for his skills. Long after Jake had retired, he could be found helping out his family with projects. Jake and Elizabeth were faithful members and servants of Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church since 1960. A special thank you to Pastor Marla Langelotz for her spiritual
support to dad and our family.
A special thank you to the staff at
Riverview for their loving and compassionate care over the past three months.
A celebration of Jake's life will be held at Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church, Monday May 27 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing prior to service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or Mennonite Central Committee.

We didn’t know Jakob well but we knew him through his son, Victor and his family. They bear witness to the quality of man Jakob was and rightly carry on his legacy. - Posted by: Joel and Kathy Requeima (Friends) on: May 28, 2019

Your father’s friendly nature was what we remember most about him. Even after many months of not seeing him, he would smile, warmly shake your hand and carry on a conversation without hesitation. Our deepest sympathies to all of you. - Posted by: Debbie and Don Rogalsky (Acquaintance) on: May 27, 2019
