November 27, 1938 - May 19, 2019

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Surrounded by his loving family, Dad started his journey to heaven only to be greeted by his parents, Martha and Clarence Musgrave, daughter Michele (Mikey) and son-in-law David Nepinak, son-in-law Dale Mann, brothers, Frank, Sonny and Clarence (Winky), sister Edith Percy and brother-in-law George Percy, and grandson Ayron Noordman (Musgrave).
Left to cherish his love, humour and his feisty spirit is his loving wife Eleneor, his children, Sandra, Joanne, Gina (Leon) and son John Jr. (Maria); sisters of Sydney, Nova Scotia are Sandra Rutherford (Bubby), Anne Nicolson and sister-in-law Georgina as well as 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Dad grew up in Sydney, Nova Scotia. At a young age Dad started his journey to Winnipeg, MB and met the love of his life Eleneor. They were married on March 23, 1963 and together they had five children.
Dad loved camping and fishing with his family. He would always sing 'Hands Above the Water' if the fish weren't biting. His past time activities were Bingo and picking up his weekly lotto and Pick-3 tickets faithfully. Dad always looked forward to his Sunday call from his children in Saskatchewan, He made sure we were always safe. We would receive phone calls from Dad to say drive carefully when the weather was bad... even when we were on vacation in Mexico and London, England.
Dad loved spending quality time with his grandchildren, he made sure every year their names were posted on his calendar for their birthdays and he would call and sing "Happy Birthday" to them.
We would like to extend our gratitude to his granddaughter Rikki Stranger for being by his side for the past three months and going above and beyond to make sure Poppa was well cared for. Danielle Stranger for always visiting and taking her Poppa to doctors appointments with Dr. Sasha Thiem, errands, Smitty's and shopping.
Thank you to the HSC Clinical Assessment Unit and say a special "Thank you" to nurse Chris for making it possible for Dad and our sister Michele to witness the marriage of Danielle and Kerri.
We would also like to thank the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time and making Dad comfortable in his final days.
In respecting Dad's wishes, a service will not be held and cremation has taken place. Interment will be held at a later date.
