GEORGE ERNEST LAMBERT
He leaves to mourn, his family and his many friends; sisters, Glenna Lambert, Carolyn Lindsay, and his twin sister Lynn Lambert (Robert Litt); nieces and nephews, Brendan (Karlina), Hayley, Sean (Marzena) and Nancy (Mike); great-niece Czesia; and great-nephews, Rowan, Orson and Joseph.
The only son of Christina (Gordon) and Ernest Lambert, George was born and raised in Winnipeg, eventually moving to his beloved property near Elma.
In his early life, due to his mother's illness, he spent over two years with his twin sister, Lynn in Owen Sound, Ontario. He was loved and raised by his aunt Ellen, uncle Stanley, cousin Betty and her husband Percy. Later in his life, with his mechanical aptitude, George trained as a power engineer working at Maple Leaf Foods and Milner Ridge.
George met the love of his life, Christina McCaughey, with whom he spent many happy laugh-filled hours on his land outside of Winnipeg. Their time together was too short due to her passing in 1995. George often talked sentimentally of his beloved Christina and how they would be reunited some day.
George loved working on his property and added substantially to his house with the help of his friends. He enjoyed walking through his acres of land revelling in the serenity of his surroundings. He was an avid reader of history and science, and he enjoyed watching sports and getting together with good friends.
A special thank you to his close friends, especially to the Aitkenhead family, for being there throughout his life and for faithfully supporting him during the past year.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of George's life to be announced within the next few months.

Sorry to hear about George. We worked together in 2006 - 2007 at Mapleleaf. Super funny guy! I had no problem giving him a good reference for his job at Milner Ridge. He also helped me a lot when I worked at Mapleleaf. I visited him at Riverview when he was recovering from his incident I think that was around 2010 or so. The last time we went out for coffee I think was around 2015. I was thinking about calling but never did, and someone at my work now told me about the bad news. I didn’t even know he was sick! Rest in peace buddy! - Posted by: Steve Vasko (Old work friend ) on: Nov 10, 2021

George was an old friend dating back to the Fort Garry days. Everyone loved him, a funnier guy I’ve never known and a true original whose friendship meant a great deal to a great many. I’m so very sorry to have just learned of his passing. My condolences to all. - Posted by: Dan Donahue (Old friend) on: Sep 14, 2019

I have been a friend of Lynn since childhood, spending many happy hours with George and the whole Lambert family growing up, and often weekends at their family cottage, always feeling so welcomed by all. I am profoundly sad at this loss, and send my love to Lynn and to all the family. - Posted by: Cathy Bachman (Friend) on: Jun 04, 2019

Wow what a shock. A funny guy will be missed. My kids have often been regaled with George Lambert stories. As happens so many times, we lose touch with our childhood friends when we marry and start new chapters in our lives. I have many fond memories of George, hanging out with Ross, Bill and Ken in the Lambert basement, playing poker there or at the Aitkenhead house, working odd jobs at Crane for Big Ernie, playing ball hockey, football and cruising in the Falcon and Mustang. Please get in touch with me re the celebration of life. John Heke @Jbheke@mts.net. or 204 667 1138 - Posted by: John Heke (Old friend) on: Jun 02, 2019
