JOHN MANCHESTER
He was born September 18, 1942 to John and Mae Manchester of Warren, MB. John was a genuine and hardworking man known by many in the Transcona community. John began his career farming in Warren, MB and Dugald, MB before finding his true passion in Real Estate, which he was successful in for 40 plus years. John had many pleasures in life, he loved spending his time out at his cabin in Otter Falls in the summer, and watching his grandchildren play hockey in the winter months. Hockey was a passion of John's since he was a young man, playing for various teams including Estevan Bruins, Flin Flon Bombers, New York Rangers, and the Transcona Turbos. He was always happy to share his hockey stories of how he led scoring for Transcona Turbos four years consecutively or how he once "had a cup of tea with the New York Rangers".
With his passing he leaves behind many friends and family that will truly miss him.
He was predeceased by the mother of his three children, Lavon, and later in life, his longtime partner and best friend, Barb Thom. John survived by his children: Rod, Boyd (Tammy) and Heidi (Tim) and his four grandchildren. Also left to mourn are numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
As per John's wishes, a memorial service will not be held.
In lieu of flowers, may be made to a charity of your choice.

John spent a short time in Kimberley where he played for the Dynamiters. My dad Aub. Leal was on the executive of the Dynamiters and that is how I met him. He would stop by our place on his way down to hustle Lavon. I remember buying a kitchen table and chairs from my parents. He was quite the guy and no doubt will be missed by many. - Posted by: Terry Leal (Friend from Kimberley ) on: Jan 15, 2020

My deepest sympathy to Heidi, Rod, Boyd and their families. Some great memories of John so many years ago when he coached hockey and looked after the rink at E.E.C.C. and whenever he stopped by the house, there was always laughter.
