It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, Joyce Edith Boyd (nee Hykawy), April 5, 2019.
Mom was born in Gimli, Manitoba on February 24, 1944. Mom was called to the Lord after a long illness.
She will be forever missed by her sons, Dean (Leah) and Kevin (Audrey). Mom is survived by her three sisters, Phyllis (Ron), Fran and Jerone (Bob); sister-in-law Bev; and brother-in-law Gerry (Donna) and her grandchildren, Jarrett, Stacey, Emma, Ashleigh, Bobbie-Lynn, Kayla and Hunter; daughter-in-law Michelle, her great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her many friends and family, and extended family.
Mom will follow her mom and dad, Bill and Martha; sister Gloria; her brother Ed; and son Brett, into the heavens to watch over us all.
Mom loved the outdoors, gardening and cats. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to your local SPCA or Humane Society in Mom's name.
A very special thank you to all the wonderful nurses and caregivers at the Harvest Hills Bethany Care Centre. You took care of mom and gave her respect and dignity in her final years when it was difficult for her to find those on her own. There aren't enough words to express our gratitude. Thank you.
A service will be held for Mom on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at the Notre Dame Catholic Church, 269 Jemima St., Selkirk, MB at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Notre Dame Catholic Cemetery, 6147 Highway 9A, Selkirk. Lunch will be served after, back at the church.
