THOMAS ROGERS

On Monday, May 20, 2019, with great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of the most amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather of 98 wonderful years.
Our beloved Thomas Rogers was born to parents, Jeannie and Frederick Rogers on July 7, 1920, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He spent his younger years farming at Hillside Beach where he grew up. In 1939, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where he served until 1970, and later retired from the airlines at the age of 65. During his ventures, he had the good fortune to meet the beautiful Helen Pierce whom he quickly married. From that point on he completely devoted his life to her and his family.
Thomas leaves behind his loving wife of 67 years, Helen, daughters, Kathy, Patsy (Fred) and Judy; grandchildren, Michael (Marilyn), David (Stephanie), Steven, Andrea, Stacey and Deanna (Dave); great-grandchildren, Jayden, Finley and Wynn, and Kathy's beloved foster children, Gallia, Tessa (Bob), Raylene, Creed and Clifford; brother-in-law Jack Pierce and family, Cindy Rogers (Ken), and many nieces and nephews.
Tom and Helen enjoyed travelling often especially to their favourite place, Hawaii, where they would sit and enjoy life together under the banyan tree at their favourite Moana Surfrider Resort in Waikiki.
Tom will be greatly missed by his wife and entire family who have cherished every minute we've had with him. He will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts and we know you will be watching over us. Heaven just gained the most amazing angel. We love you and miss you.
There will be a private family service and gathering at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Tom Rogers, hands down, was one of the most gentle and kind person I have ever met. I especially admired his total devotion to his family, especially his wife Helen. Tom also had the ability to put other's welfare before his own. He will be missed. - Posted by: Lynn Carmichael (Friend) on: Jun 13, 2019
