CHARLES JOEL RUBIN

It is with heavy hearts and deepest sadness that the family of Charles Joel Rubin announces his passing on June 6, 2019. Charles passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
He leaves behind his sons, Brent (Jen), Stephen (Clare); grandchildren, Danielle (Bode) and Samuel; great-granddaughter Marlo; brother Jerry (Wendy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles was predeceased by his wife, the love of his life, Ferne and his parents, Sam and Lucy.
Charles was born on March 17, 1943 in Winnipeg. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with his science degree and went on to become a chartered accountant working as a partner in many firms including Laventhol & Horwath, Arthur Anderson and Ernst & Young. He married his high school sweetheart Fern on October 10, 1964 and enjoyed many years together with their two sons. Charles loved to travel, play golf, curl, hangout with his friends and have his drink of scotch but most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his granddaughter Danielle. Over the last two years Charles fought a brave battle with his chronic illness but always remained the kind, caring and loving father, grandfather and brother that he was.
The family would like to thank Dr. Oliver and nurses on Unit 4 and Unit 1 at the Seven Oaks Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. ETZ-Chayim Synagogue with interment at B'nai Abraham cemetery.
