Condolences & Memories (11 entries)
We were so saddened to hear of the loss of your dear Mother Anita. Such a special lady who has found her new home in the arms of our dear Lord and her loving husband your father. I will always remember in my teenage years going to your home and feeling so welcomed. Her smile and laughter brought such joy to me. I will never forget her relaying the story of her son (sorry I can't remember which one) cutting a hole in the table cloth and putting his head through to appear as though he was being served for dinner. I laughed so hard that day. I have since told my sons on more than one occasion that I could only dream of being able to create such a loving and fun home for my family. Anita was so instrumental in creating this atmosphere for anyone who was fortunate to be around her. Her faith and dedication to serving the poor was also such a strong reminder to me as well. Our parents spent many hours working on rummage sales to raise funds for the Honduras Missions. I only wish my Mom would have left some of the items that were donated back at the Gym. We all thought that was funny as well. Anita would just giggle when Mom would bargain for some trashy item. She was a remarkable woman and will be truly missed. Love and condolences to all the family. Bob and Paulette - Posted by: Bob and Paulette Reid (Friends) on: Jun 14, 2019

I grew up knowing some of the Albo children, who are wonderful people and great family friends. They no doubt had that wonderful nature in their hearts from their parents. Sorry for your loss.... - Posted by: Dave Lysyk (Friend) on: Jun 13, 2019
The Albo family was so special to us as children growing up to them next door. Mr. & Mrs. Albo will be in my heart and memories forever. I still remember Mr. Albo coming home singing and Mme. Albo's kindness and laughter. She was the heart of it all. As a child, I will always remember her, her warmth, her smile and goodness, not to mention the fabulous caramel popcorn balls she made "special treats" for the neighbourhood kids at Halloween and her crabapple jelly. Our mom, Yvonne was very fond of her and with good reason, Anita was wonderful! This may seem like a small insignificant recollection, but many, many years later, your mom made those memories special for the children close to her. Madame Albo was a very very special person at the heart of a very special family and we were so lucky to have had her in our lives. I do and will remember her forever. My sincere condolences to the Albo family, Gisèle - Posted by: Gisele Rousseau (Childhood neighbour) on: Jun 11, 2019
Wow 98 as my mom said "Good for her". What a special lady, with her never ending smile and her laugh she will be missed but always remembered. Our condolences to the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Sue & Ray Riel (Thompson) - Posted by: Sue Riel (Thompson) (Family Friend) on: Jun 11, 2019
Anita was such a special lady. Even at the age of 90 she welcomed our prayer group into her home and insisted on serving us tea and dessert. Her strong faith shone, her smile heartwarming. - Posted by: Rose Couture (St. Emile Parishioner) on: Jun 11, 2019
The Albo family were our neighbours on Enfield Crescent. What a wonderful bunch! Mme Albo had a delightful smile with a contagious laugh. I recall her annual “lady party” for the kids on the block. All the little girls would rummage through their mother’s closet looking for a dress, high-heeled shoes and perhaps some white gloves to wear to the party. We'd gather around the picnic table in the backyard, sheltered by the blooming crabapple trees. There Mme Albo would serve fancy sandwiches and pink milk. It took me years to figure out how she got pink milk from the cow! Sincere sympathy to the whole Albo family. Let her memories warm your hearts in the days and years to come. - Posted by: Michele on behalf of the Rousseau family (Family friend) on: Jun 11, 2019
Anita was in the same Sewing Circle as my mother, Irma Robert, who passed away at the age of 100 on June 2nd five years ago. That was back in the '40s and '50s. After that, they would stay in touch by phone and occasional visits. I remember Mrs Albo as a kind and cheerful lady, the sort that you just liked for no apparent reason. Surely she and my mom are are having a fine time together as I write this. - Posted by: Denis Robert (Son of a long time friend) on: Jun 10, 2019
Our deepest sympathies to the family. What a wonderful woman, always a smile and never a complaint. It has been our pleasure to know her. - Posted by: Donna & Laurence Hauser (friend) on: Jun 10, 2019
Our families were joined in many ways. Mike and Anita were close friends of my parents. I maintained relationships with John for many years. Anita was my favorite lady ever. Always laughing, smiling, a pat on the head or a hug if needed. A great Mom to her family and a great friend to all who knew her. Mike will be happy to greet her in their final home. Farewell Mrs. A. - Posted by: Ken Rowson (Family Friend) on: Jun 09, 2019
Anita was a wonderful woman....always cheerful. Never heard her complain. She took life as it came. Her deep and abiding faith showed in her actions.... a hard worker, always willing to help, full of love for others and very generous. Each year she baked and donated numerous items for our bake sale. Her lemon merinque pies were the best. Farewell dear friend. I take comfort in knowing you lived a good life and gave it your all. My thoughts and prayers go to your family. You will be sorely missed. - Posted by: Beth Olah (Friend ) on: Jun 08, 2019
