Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • As one of the cousins closest in age to Jimmy we often spent time in conversation together on family visits. We attended Jimmy and Marleen's wedding in 1981 and Jimmy's Uncle Paul had a wonderful time and sang all the way home in the back seat with my fiance at the time, Alastair. It was a pretty and wonderful wedding and a great day for them both and a for their parents and family. Jimmy was instrumental in pulling together much of the family history for a book that was done for the history of all the families from the eastern Interlake turn of the century settlements and communities from Selkirk north to Winnipeg Beach and Gimli. Jimmy made sure the Wawryks were included along with all of other families that were intertwined from the marriages and relationships with the 8 children that Michael and Anna had been blessed with. Jimmy was very proud of all of this and of his loving and devoted wife Marleen and his boys Jon and Jay. He was blessed with grandchildren (thanks to Jon and Shondra) before his passing (way too soon) and I am so grateful that he was allowed at least some time to spend with them. Our whole family and extended circle of family and friends will remember a kind and gentle soul and a warm heart. Our prayers are with you at this time...Joanne (Wawryk) and Jim Weir - Posted by: Joanne and Jim Weir (Cousin) on: Jun 15, 2019
