On June 6, 2019, a man of great optimism, integrity and warmth, Siegfried Isaak, known to everyone as Butch, passed away peacefully, at home, at the age of 75.
He was born on November 1, 1943 at Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and grew up on the farm in Springstein with his brothers, sisters and dog Buster.
Butch graduated high school from MCI, Gretna and went on to study accounting at the University of Manitoba. He had a fulfilling career and was well respected in his field. He enjoyed his work so much that he never really retired.
He devoted more than 35 years to volunteering for the Cosmopolitan Club of Winnipeg, and his home congregation First Mennonite Church. Butch also served on the Board of Concordia Hospital and Westgate Mennonite Collegiate for many years.
In 1968 he married Eleanor Rempel, and they shared 50 beautiful years together. Butch enjoyed mapping out long road trips and visiting with friends and especially family.
Butch will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend Eleanor, daughters, Tamara and Krista (Darren), grandchildren, David, Sara, Michelle, Jakob and Luke, and siblings, Selma, Vera and Henry. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Gertrude Isaak, and brother Harold.
A private family gathering will be held Sunday, June 16, 2019.
Donations in memory of Butch can be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.

"Good night sweet prince; and now may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest".
