MARLENE CATHERINE (MCCOLL) ETHIER

Marlene Catherine (McColl) Ethier, on June 13, 2019, left us at 81 years with great courage and strength.
Forever grateful for the 53 years with her Jackie, they are now reunited. She is survived by sons, Lionel (Annette) and Dale (Donna) Ethier; daughters, Joy Sinnott and Vicki J. Hurley (Brian); grandsons, Jonathon (Stephanie) and Dylan Ethier, Tim (Marcia) Ethier, Erik and Thomas Sinnott; granddaughters, Brianna and Elleena Hurley; and great-granddaughters, Ezra, Riel and Haddie Ethier. Also surviving her is sister Diane Vaz and nieces, Anita (David), Tracey (Mike) and Sherri (Mico) along with the many wonderful family members of our Icelandic relatives and loving friends who have shared such touching moments with Marlene.
Marlene's life centered around her husband, family and friends. Marlene's home was always open to all, sharing many talks and laughs and pool parties. Gimli was the retirement home in 2002, where all her grandchildren enjoyed their summers, memories that they cherish. 10 years with friends who became family in the Agape Villa, was a special part of Marlene's life.
A special thank you to the medical staff who cared for Marlene at the St. Boniface Hospital, Deer Lodge Centre and Grace Hospital.
The Celebration of Life for this beautiful woman will take place Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor Street, Winnipeg, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Lutheran Church, so we can help feed those in need.

  • Marlene you and Roger were friends for a few years in the west end before I became his fiancé and met you. The fun times we had with you and Jack will never be forgotten. Your laughter still fills our hearts. On your wedding day I had the pleasure of being one of your bridesmaids. It was a wonderful day. You and your Mom gave me a wonderful surprise shower at you Mom's house. We even had our daughters together in the hospital. You and I in labour while Jack and Roger played cards at the end of the bed. We shared so many memories of you, happy, fun times. You will always be in our hearts. RIP dearest friend. • I'm so sorry for your loss. A lot of my childhood memories included Marlene and Jack. I spent just as much time in their home as I did my own. The memory that always stands out is when they had that little restaurant and left me and Vicki to make food for people. We had no idea of what we were doing. Lol they always welcomed me into their home, day after day after day. - Posted by: Sharon murphy (Daughters friend) on: Jun 15, 2019
