Jaxon was born Jacob Penner to John and Sarah (Schellenberg) in Winkler, MB on January 27, 1929.
Jaxon was preceded in death by his beloved wife Frances (Yagilashek) in 2012, his parents; brothers, Cornelius, Henry and John; and sisters, Lydia and Katherine. Jaxon is survived by his sisters, Helen and Nettie, and many fond nieces and nephews. His 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren have many fond memories.
Jaxon received his Bachelor of Arts at U of M and worked for Bank of Montreal for 35 years. He was an athlete up to the time of his diagnosis of cancer; running and snowshoeing. His favourite pastime was reading from his Bible. He travelled the world with Frances.
He will be buried beside Frances following a funeral Mass on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 10:45 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. A reception will follow at the home of his daughter Jodeen immediately following burial at Assumption Catholic Cemetary.
We would like to thank our sister Lisa Wells and her family for the wonderful care they gave to our father while he resided in Calgary.
