Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Gord was my hockey coach in the west end at Principal Sparling. It was a small outdoor rink with no boards and the shack was run by Siggy. Gord would have been only about 5 years older than me so I was perhaps 11 and Gord 15 or 16. It was good of him to look out for those younger than himself. He and his buddy Charlie were reliable and friendly. There was never money for extras and I remember Gord saying he had an extra pair of hockey pants I could use. That was good of him. I am sure other team members such as Paul Skinner, Craig Troop, Lawrence Rentz, Dave Wooley and Zane Swidinskie have similar memories of this older guy who bothered to take the time and put in the effort to allow us to have a team and enjoy the sport in all of its late 50’s or early 60’s neighbourhood glory. Thanks for your care and consideration Gord. - Posted by: Barry Esselmont (Hockey) on: Jul 06, 2019

  • Dianne and family .... my deepest sympathy goes out to you on Gordon’s passing. It’s very tragic and my heart goes out to you during this difficult time. Please know that you are in my thoughts as you struggle to cope with the void left in your lives. - Posted by: Coralie Bornais (“Cousin” ) on: Jun 29, 2019
