August 20, 1995 - June 21, 2019
a.k.a. PARAGON

It is with great sorrow the family of Brenden Austman announce his unexpected passing on June 21, 2019 at the Grace Hospital.
He leaves to mourn his mother Olivia da Silva, his father Chad Austman and his older brother Chase Austman. Besides his mom, dad and big brother, Brenden will be missed by his immediate family, which includes aunts, uncles, cousins, his grandmother and numerous close friends including his dog Melli.
Brenden was born at the Grace Hospital on August 20, 1995. He grew up in the Crestview area of St. James and attended Crestview Elementary School, Ness Middle School and graduated from Sturgeon Heights. Brenden was an avid and competitive soccer and hockey player. He developed strong, personal relationships with everyone he met.
Brenden was a quiet, gentle soul, but when it came to his passion for music, which included writing, producing and singing hip hop and rap, that quiet young man unleashed his inner beast and belted out the tunes so everyone could enjoy. The lyrics in his music were passionate and meaningful to him and his audience.
Brenden was a member in the local hip hop/rap community and was better known as PARAGON, his stage name. He recently performed in Edmonton, Alberta and was extremely happy with the direction his career was taking. Brenden envisioned moving to Edmonton in the near future to pursue his dreams. He was a well-respected performer and will be missed by his music family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU staff at the Grace Hospital for their compassion and professionalism during Brenden's care. Dr. Schaeffer and Brenden's nursing team, Stephan and Lori, went above and beyond to assist the family during this very emotional time.
Cremation has taken place. Brenden's Celebration of Life will be held on July 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery located at 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB. Interment to follow; everyone is welcome.
In lieu of flowers, a Go-Fund-Me page has been created with donations going to the Winnipeg Foundation where a fund will be set up in Brenden's name.
