REGNERUS THEODORUS (TED) DECOCK
Beloved husband of Truus Decock for over 59 years. Ted was born in Heemstede, Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1956. Son of the late Regnerus and Jacoba (van den Brink) de Cock. Loving father of Ron and Lynne, Paul and Jennifer and Jason (Parks) and Yvonne. Dear Opa to Anneka, Hudson, Aila, Evan, Samantha, Eliana, Alyssa, Nico and Wil. Fondly remembered by his nephews, Alex and Tim Decock and his nieces, Nancy (Beuglet) and Monica Decock, as well as many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews in the Netherlands, Ireland, Brazil and the United States.
On July 2, 2019, at 8:15 p.m., Regnerus (Ted) Decock, went peacefully into the arms of his own heavenly Father. Although he had been ill, it still came suddenly and unexpectedly. But on his last day - even if it was in a hospital - he was his same witty, funny and love-filled self...clear minded, and fully aware. He was sick, but expressed his joy at the extraordinary life he had lived with his beautiful wife, that his children all loved the Lord, that he'd been able to meet all his spectacular grandchildren, and had lived a full and long life. He wasn't fearful, but looked at life as a 'race well ran', and at death as simply the highly anticipated reunion with the Saviour of his soul. We mourn that he is gone from us, but celebrate that he is at rest, without pain, and free from illness. But mostly we rejoice that he is now and forever with his King and Friend.
There will be a private ceremony for family members at Cole Funeral Services in Ottawa, 613-831-7122.
